Amsterdam Bike Rentals

• Option A: 1 credit card (we make a copy in the store) for up to 5 bikes.
• Option B: 1 passport / I.D. (original) for up to 5 bikes + € 50 (cash) per bike.

Please note that for e-bike rentals, we only accept a credit card and cash as a deposit.

• The insurance only applies to the rented bicycle.
• Insurance on an E-bike is mandatory (€8,95 per day).
• Optional insurance applies to other (city) bicycles. This is € 3,50 for 1 to 6 hours or € 4,95 per day (24 hours) per bicycle and for a (children’s) tandem or cargo bike it is € 5,95 for 1 to 6 hours or € 8,95  per day.
• The insurance applies to theft of the bicycle and damage to the bicycle.
• With insurance you retain a deductible in the event of theft of:
  €50,- for a standard bike
  €150 for a (children’s) tandem or a cargo bike
  €500 for an e-bike
  €950,- for an electric cargo bike
  €500 for the battery of an e-bike or electric cargo bike
  €180 for the charger of an e-bike or electric cargo bike
• The deductible in the event of theft only applies if you return both keys of the bicycle to MacBike, without both keys you still pay the new value of the bicycle.
• In case of damage, the deductible is reduced to € 0,-.
• Without insurance, you pay the new value of the bicycle in the event of theft:
  € 450,-. for a standard bike
  €1,500 for a (children’s) tandem or cargo bike
  €2.750,- for an e-bike
  €3,999 for an electric cargo bike.
• In the event of theft, you must report the theft to the police yourself. MacBike will receive a copy of the declaration from you.
• MacBike recommends taking out insurance for each bicycle.

• Each bike is equipped with two locks.
• Never leave the bicycle unattended, unless properly locked.
• Always lock the bike with both the locks to a bike rack.
• Never leave the key in the lock when you leave the bike.
• MacBike staff will demonstrate proper use of the locks.

• Payment for the rental period is required upfront.
• One day is considered to be 24 hours.
• Always bring the copy of your contract with you when you return the bicycle.
• If you experience any problems with your bicycle, please visit one of the MacBike shops in Amsterdam. MacBike does not reimburse any repairs performed by other companies.

• The use of the bike by the customer and/or third parties is at the customer’s own risk;
• Costs for incorrectly parked bikes are at the customer’s own risk;
• The bikes have been serviced prior to the rental period so that they can function safely, efficiently and operationally. Upon delivery, MacBike has given the customer the opportunity to check the condition of the bikes;
• The customer is obliged to use the bikes (by the customer and/or third parties) in accordance with their nature and purpose and to follow the instructions given by MacBike and/or the manufacturer for their use;
• By renting a bike, the customer declares to take responsibility for all damage to the rented, and caused with the rented during the rental period, and will immediately compensate the loss of and damage to the rented;
• MacBike is not liable for any damage inflicted to persons, or properties of the customer and/or third parties, which are the result of the use of the bike by the customer and/or third parties;
• MacBike is not liable for the consequences of not following advice by the customer and/or third parties regarding the use of the bike;
• The customer indemnifies MacBike from claims of third parties.
